Our rally is held every year on the weekend before Memorial Day at the Drummer Boy campground in Gettysburg. Rally activities start on Thursday evening with everyone meeting at the pavilion for a social gathering and hot dog roast! Numerous activities are planned on Friday and Saturday for both children and adults. Some of the 2005 activities included: a bus tour of the battlefield, an ice cream social where everyone made home made ice cream, a tour of the Harley Davidson plant, trip to the boyds bear outlet, trip to the battlefield electronic map, candy bar bingo, pot luck dinner, and numerous private gatherings, parties, and campfires. Besides all the rally activities, the campground has 2 swimming pools, hot tubs, fishing pond, trails, and much more.
| Part of the tradition of Gettysburg is to recognize our heroes. This is General Cy Burr. We at the rally have adopted him as our hero of Gettysburg. We often talk about General Cy Burr around the campfires, hopefully everything we say is nice even though Cy Burr is a bit of a Rebel. But his contributions to Gettysburg are too numerous to mention. If you are interested in learning more about General Cy Burr, just join us on the rally thread, and to learn even more than that, join us at our next rally. | ![]() |
When we held our first rally was held in 2004, 23 RVers signed up and 17 attended. The word spread fast on the RV.net forums, and in 2005 73 RVers signed up and 69 attended. 12 of the attendees were repeats from 2004. 2006 is already shaping up to be even bigger and better.

Unlike other rallies, this is a non profit event. The rally is simply a gathering of Members from the RV.net forum. Each individual is responsible for their campsite fees and any tour activities they decide to enjoy. The Host of the rally does not collect any rally fees what so ever. So you determine how much or how little you want to spend while attending the rally.

The Gettysburg Rally, Drummer Boy Camping Resort and the town of Gettysburg offer an endless variety of activities to keep you very busy. It's up to you to decide and plan which activities you wish to enjoy. No doubt some of the folks will take a bus tour of the battleground, while others will decide to visit the local outlet mall or perhaps a visit to Boyd's Bears. Or if you wish, just find a nice place to sit, relax and meet some of the very fine people that will be attending the rally.

Our first rally in 2004 was organized by an RV.net forum member, 2cyber71. 23 RVs signed up and 17 attended. 2cyber71 hosted the rally a second time in 2005. The word of the rally spread fast on RV.net and 73 RVs signed up with 69 attending. 12 of the attendees were repeats from 2004.
2006 is already shaping up to be even bigger and better. It is getting far too big for one person to handle so we are organizing this years rally as a committee.
